Kate Dulac Serodio
PT, DPT, OCS, Cert-DN, VRS, MST
Kate graduated from Simmons College with her Doctorate Degree in Physical therapy and concentration on health studies. After completing her residency, Kate continued to focus on outpatient orthopedics before joining Hampton Physical Therapy as a co-owner in 2005. In 2008 Kate recognized a need for physical therapy in Seabrook, NH. and decided to expand Hampton Physical Therapy to Seabrook, NH. Kate currently practices at both the Hampton and Seabrook Locations.
Kate is one of the first local physical therapists to become certified in the Graston Technique™ which incorporates a patented instrument that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function. Kate has found this technique to be very successful in treating chronic and acute conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonosis, and tennis elbows.
Kate is also certified in dry needling (DN) since 2010 and was one of the first local therapists to start utilizing this technique in the seacoast. Dry needling is a form of therapy in which fine needles (acupuncture needles) are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful knots in the muscle), tendons, or near nerves in order to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal conditions. This technique has been extremely beneficial for patient’s experiencing neck pain, chronic tension headaches, knee arthritis, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonosis, tennis elbow, sciatica, and IT Band.
Kate has also had significant success treating patients with chronic plantar fasciitis/Achilles tendonosis by combining her Graston technique in conjunction with neural mobilization. In 2008, Kate presented at the Association Of Extremity Nerve Surgeons (AENS) 7th annual scientific conference in Fort Worth,Texas on mobilization of the nervous system. Mobilization of the nervous system has been a key component with treating not only these 2 conditions but also sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, cervical radiculopathy, and tarsal tunnel syndrome or any nerve entrapment or neuropathy.
Lastly, Kate also performs Spinal Thrust Manipulations (adjustments), bio-mechanical assessment of the foot with foot casting/orthotic fabrication, footwear prescriptions, and post-operative rehabilitation programs. Kate is currently enrolled in the Spinal Manipulation Institute and most recently was awarded board certification in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
Certifications: Dry Needling – Kineticore, Dry Needling with Spinal Manipulation institute: DN-1 Spinal Manipulation SMT-1, SMT-3, Certified Vestibular Specialist and board certification in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
